Corey Taylor to Release Free ‘Live in London’ Solo Concert Next Week

Next Monday (Dec. 18), Corey Taylor will release Live in London, an acoustic solo performance taken from a sold out show at KOKO in London, England. The full concert will be put out for free at the singer’s website

During his solo gigs, Taylor performs not just songs from the two primary bands he fronts, Slipknot and Stone Sour, but a bevy of diverse covers from some of his favorite artists like Kiss, The Cure, Misfits and R.E.M. The setlist from the London show, which took place May 8 of this year, can be viewed below, along with a minute long teaser clip for Taylor’s release.

Taylor has long expressed the different music he listens to in a variety of settings. Back in July, he visited Boston radio station 107.3 WAAF and during his stop he played a cover of Tom Petty‘s “You Got Lucky.” With Petty’s death this past October, the station tweeted out the performance with Taylor giving it a retweet online.

Last month, in an interview with Full Metal Jackie, Taylor said he still has another year and a half touring with Stone Sour before he will even start to think about Slipknot.

“I know that I’ll be in the mood to really focus on something a little more – less rock ‘n’ roll and a little more brutal,” he said of his mindset after the Stone Sour gigs wrap up. “I think that’s one of the reasons why I’m so glad that Stone Sour started to go in that hard rock direction, so it really becomes even easier to differentiate between the two. We’ve got a really great rock ‘n’ roll style going on with Stone Sour right now and it allows Slipknot to have that lethal bent — that kind of melodic murder that we kind of do, you know?”

CRADLE OF FILTH – CRUELTY AND THE BEAST 20TH ANNIVERSARY REMIXED VERSION ”IS SOUNDING UTTERLY KILLER”

Dani Filth, frontman for UK-based black metallers Cradle Of Filth, has issued the following update:

”Hi there pop pickers! I am spending the next couple of days working with Scott Atkins at Grindstone Studios deep in the heart of the Suffolk countryside – in frostbitten melancholia – on the Cruelty And The Beast anatomical remix. That’s a total remix, not a remaster!

The album – which will be released next year to honour it’s 20th anniversary – is sounding utterly killer. Waaay better sounding without losing any of its dark, magickal atmosphere. And the weather couldn’t be any more perfect for it, save maybe it were to thunder and lightning….”
